Going Live

The process of switching on your new web site involves changing the records held on the domain's 'name server' to point your web address to the new web site.

This process can take some time so please contact us ideally at least a week before you wish to go live.

Do you already have a domain name?

No - We need to purchase one!

We can register one on your behalf and make sure it is associated with your web site. Contact support for more information. You do not have to read on!

Yes - We already have a domain name!

If you already have a domain name registered there are 2 options for making your site live:

  1. Transfer your domain to us (recommended)
By transferring your domain name to us we can then manage your DNS records for you. We can then point it at your new web site at the relevant time. We will also re-register your domain name for you so it never expires. Transferring your domain name to us enables us to guarantee maximum uptime for your web site.

As we are charged for re-registering the domain we'll pass this cost onto you. Our charges for registering and managing domains are as follows:

    UK domains e.g.co.uk, org.uk - £7.50 +VAT per domain per year
TLD e.g.com, org, net etc - £15 +VAT per domain per year

If your email hosting is linked with your domain name you should either insure that you can continue your email service with your current provider or transfer your email hosting to another provider (use Google apps for free email hosting).

Make a request to transfer your domain name to us and then we'll guide you through the process.

  2. Manage your own DNS
If you are happy maintaining your own DNS records, and would like to continue to do this, you can point your domain at our server yourself. Please make a request to repoint your domain name at our servers so we can add the necessary domain names to your web site before we contact you with further instructions.
